Favorite thing to do in the area...

I love to be outisde in general. The area itself is gorgeous and offers tons of opportunities for recreational activities. Whether you want to hike, fly fish, look for critters, admire the landscape, paddleboard, kayak, etc. The options feel limitless.

My advice to students searching for a college...

Ask yourself: Can you picture yourself here for 4 years? Will you be happy? Is this what you really want? If the answer is no to either, keep searching or find out more and see if your opinion changes.

Favorite thing about Lees-McRae....

It feels like a genuine home. I've grown so close to so many other students and I know my teachers more than I ever did in High School. They care a lot more than you'd think and just knowing they are always there to talk to or get help if you need it is comforting.

Most memorable Lees-McRae experience...

It snowed for the first time and everyone was out and playing and having a blast. It was something to bond over and it offered an option for small talk. Overall, it was amazing and I don't think you'd get the same experience in a bigger school.
